Day 1: Arequipa — San Juan de Chuccho — Sangalle Oasis

Pickup at your accommodation and direct transfer to the imposing Colca Valley, enjoying the changing Andean landscapes under the sunrise during the journey.

Technical stop in the town of Chivay to enjoy a refreshing American breakfast before starting the mountain trek with full energy.

Arrival at Cruz del Cóndor Viewpoint

Estimated time of 40 minutes to contemplate the geological depth of the Colca Canyon, take photographs, and observe the majestic flight of the Andean condors.

Descent from San Miguel Viewpoint

Official start of the downhill trek towards the bottom of the canyon, hiking along zigzagging trails amidst spectacular landscapes (Approximately 4 hours of hiking).

Lunch in San Juan de Chuccho

Arrival at the village at the bottom of the canyon for lunch. Afterward, the route continues by discovering the local traditions and architecture of Malata and Cosñirhua villages.

Arrival at Sangalle Oasis

Arrival at the tropical paradise at the bottom of the canyon. Check-in at your respective rustic traditional bungalow to rest, relax in the natural pools, and disconnect from the city noise.

Day 2: Cabanaconde — Chivay — Arequipa

Trek Upwards to Cabanaconde

A very early start for the demanding vertical uphill climb from Sangalle to avoid extreme solar radiation. A challenging hike rewarded by spectacular views of the canyon.

Breakfast in Cabanaconde

Arrival at the top after the physical effort. We will enjoy a well-deserved and nutritious breakfast in the town to recover energy and continue the day's route.

Panoramic Viewpoints Tour

During the return drive in our tourist transport, we will visit key highlights within the valley:

  • Cruz del Cóndor (Second chance to witness the flight of the condor)
  • Antahuilque and Choquetico (Pre-Inca agricultural terraces and unique geological formations)
  • Wayrapunku (Natural balcony offering stunning panoramic views of the canyon)
  • Maca Traditional Village (Charming local town featuring its colonial church and handicrafts)
