Stops, Breakfast, Lunch, and Guide: What Does the Bus Trip to Humantay Include?

Traveling to Humantay Lagoon is an unmissable experience during your visit to Cusco, and knowing what the tourist bus service includes can make the difference between a comfortable trip and one full of surprises. Here’s everything included in our formal, direct transportation option so you arrive at the starting point of the hike without complications.

Early departure from Cusco

The day begins with pickup from your accommodation in Cusco between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m., depending on your location. Our tourist bus takes you safely and directly along the Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa route, with all the necessary comforts.

Stop for Andean buffet breakfast in Mollepata

The first important stop is in the cozy town of Mollepata, where you’ll enjoy an Andean buffet breakfast with fresh local products: mountain breads, coca tea, fruits, quinoa, tortillas, and more. It’s a perfect way to acclimate and recharge before the hike.

Scenic journey to Soraypampa

From Mollepata, we continue to Soraypampa, the starting point for the lagoon. The bus travels along a scenic route through mountains and valleys, ideal for enjoying the Andean landscape from the comfort of your seat. Don’t forget your camera!

Option of a professional bilingual guide

If you choose our guided service, you’ll have a professional bilingual guide (Spanish-English) throughout the trip. They will explain the history, geography, and spirituality of this sacred place in Andean cosmology. This option is perfect if you want a more enriching experience.

Hike and free time at Humantay Lagoon

Upon arrival at Soraypampa, the hike begins—approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach Humantay Lagoon. You’ll have time to explore, take photos, and connect with the beauty of the area. For those who need it, there’s the option to rent horses with local muleteers.

Andean buffet lunch on the return

After the hike, the group returns to Mollepata to enjoy a buffet lunch with typical Andean dishes: soups, stews, vegetables, pasta, and desserts, with vegetarian options available. Then, the tourist bus returns to Cusco, arriving around 5:00 p.m.
